Hi all
im doing quite fine, apart from sleeping way too long. its so hard to get up, im so tired in the "morning". i keep turning off my alarm clocks when they ring and so on... i dont care about anything, i only want to stay in bed till im fit enough.
usually i sleep 12 to 15 hours. i go to bed at about 02:00 - 04:00 and get up 17:00 - 19:00 approx...
i am retired. so i dont really have to get up. but my relationship to girlfrined is suffering.
dx is shizoaffective
300mg effexor
100mg amisulpride
50mg seroquel (went down alot. was taking 400 to 600mg at some time)
225mg lithium-carbonate
100mg Naftidrofurylyesterday i took only 25mg seroquel. worked for falling asleep but slept long as usual
so any ideas, tips, whatever ? guess i should try to get rid of seroquel entirely. but falling asleep was a big issue for most of my life.. and seroquel is one of the few things that work for that

I think its the Effexor, not the Seroquel.
What's your diagnosis?

Do you remember if your overlong sleeping hours started with the Effexor?

I've never taken seroquel, but have heard that low doses make you more tired than high doses. were you as tired at the higher dose? Maybe an even lower dose than the 50mg you take would work better, like maybe 25mg? Its a mater of how much antihistamine you get, it maxes out at some point.

yeah this is somewhat true. it was easier to me to get out of bed at higher dosages. but in the ned didnt change much after all. weight gain and heart palpations were troublesome at hihger dosages. i really try to avoid taking it high again.

so you could be right actually. maybe i try to step down from 300mg to 225mg or so and see whats happening.

The other thing I was saying was to take less than 50mg. Maybe 25 or half that. that would make you less tired and not need the highest doses you were on.
