Who has tried Vortioxetine?

Posted by kilo8 on May 25, 2015, at 16:43:33

I just started with it. I have been taking 5mg for 4 days now. No effect so far. Also no huge side effects expect that my muscles on the arm started to pulsate every now and then which is really annoying. I had the same effect when I started taking Lexapro back then. This must be coming from the drug.

Anyway I searched online for testimonies and most people who took it weren't happy with it. I do not really expect very much from it.

I also don't know how hard it is on the liver and wether it has many drug interactions. Prozac for example has many interactions because of CYP 2D6 which is a reason not to take it. I don't know how vortioxetine compares to other SSRI when it comes to liver metabolism.

I hope this drug helps you. Some researchers believe that 5-HT7 receptor antagonism exerts an antidepressant effect.

Why does the ability of Prozac to inhibit 2D6 concern you? Would you avoid Wellbutrin or Paxil for the same reason?

Thanks.

I took it for several months. Its effects are subtle, but I thought it was a good medication.

No side-effects that I noticed. Minimal numbing/dumbing-down that comes from ADs.

Maybe one of the best ADs I've ever taken. Not quite as effective as Effexor was for me, but I think it was better than effexor overall due to the lack of sides.

Effexor was messing with my liver levels. On vortioxetine I was getting monthly blood tests. My liver levels settled down and never were a problem on this drug.

Give it some time - like I said - the effects are subtle, but good.

Just out of curiosity, why did you eventually stop taking vortioxetine, and for what exact condition did you take it (if I may ask)?

I did well on Vortioxetine. I was impressed with what was a quick onset of anxiolytic effect. I felt much less anxious on it about 2 weeks into taking it.

Hello, I have been on 10mg for 14 days now before I was on 5mg for 14 days. I cannot say I feel any better at all. I am disappointed. I still feel as depressed as always and also get as restless as always. If these drugs are so damn weak that you notice no difference then they are useless. :(

You may need to increase the dose to 20 mg. A couple of studies suggest that a 20 mg dose is much more effective than the 5 mg recommended.

I'd double it at this point then in another 2 weeks bump it up to 15 mg.

I have been at 10mg for 2 weeks.
I could not find studies saying that 20mg is better than 10mg. If you know any show them to me.

I feel like this stuff is as useless as all other meds I tried. :(
