Nardil not working so well anymore

Posted by kuro on March 19, 2015, at 18:42:18

I've been on nardil about 4 months now, and it's by far been the best medication I've taken, however the last two months since being on 60 mg then increasing to 75 mg, I've gotten really depressed again. I don't know if I need to go up to 90 mg which many report being the most effective dose, or go down to 45 mg were I already felt positive effects. What would you guys suggest? Also I've heard how much you take has to do with your weight, I weigh 130 pounds, could I just be on too high of a dose?

I had the same experience with the same dosage, though I weighed between 180-200 lbs. It just didn't keep me from having episodes. I abandoned my job (at which I was overextending myself, admittedly) after my apartment fell in. Switching back to Parnate helped. I had a long recovery even with the Parnate. I miss Nardil's anxiety relief but I'm not certain it objectively helped my anxiety, considering my breakdown.

Maybe you should consider Parnate if you react to MAOIs but Nardil seemed to lose its luster.

Where are you getting your Nardil? I've heard the Greenstone brand varies with each production run.

The Gavis brand is more consistent and it's inactive ingredients seem to be closer to the old Parke Davis brand.

I was on the Gavis brand but the VA stopped using it so now I'm back on the Greenstone. So far it's not a great effect.

When I do have a meltdown I up the dose from 60mg to 120mg for a few days...then back to 60mg. At times I think our neuro levels drop drastically when we're over stressed......so the boost readjusts levels and we can go back down to our normal dose. Do not stay at a high dose.
