Has anyone ever had success switching from an ssri to nefazodone or any other med for sexual dysfunction?

Nefazadone may come with less or no sexual dysfunction, but it is purported to be less effective than antidepressants in typical classes according to studies such as the STAR-D. I wouldn't suggest experiencing SSRI discontinuation syndrome to switch to a sometimes inferior antidepressant.

No but I have thought about it, but then again I'm off everything now after coming off vortioxetine. What has deterred me was it's lack of efficiency in OCD(what I have) and the fact I've seen lot of reports of memory problems on it, which was one reason I stopped vortioxetine, which is purported to increase cognition. Some people swear it helps a lot though and is a godsend.

I thought nefazodone was band due to organ failure in a small percentage. Hmm... I remember taking it years ago after trying all the crappy SSRIs. I felt it within a week, tho not necessarily positive effects. I stopped coz it caused me nightmares.

Yea just give it a shot, it may work wonders. Another option would be augmenting an ssri with mirtazipine or nefazadone, as some people say that the 5ht2a and 5ht2c antagonistic properties of these drugs lessen the sexual side effects. Mirtazipine also has affinity for the sigma receptor which some people say can help impotence and ocd. Just take it slow, and if it doesn't work out don't panic and look for another option to try. Hope it works out great!

Thank you for the positive response! I am trying Brintellix instead under my doctor's guidance so I hope that it works out!
