Hi all:
Anyone have experience with Lamictal worsening depression? It's always worked well with Celexa, if not a little too activating, but when the Celexa is reduced or switch, I feel the Lamictal has an opposite effect.
Unfortunately every time I've tried to lower the lamictal, however slowly, has resulted in profound depression after a week or so, so it's not easy to experiment with different doses.
thanks!

I mean...psych meds are unpredictable. Anticonvulsants can worsen depression. I really don't know what else to say...

I don't follow you're logic, but it seams the Lamictal basically helps with depression if you say it gets worse when you lower it.

> EricYeah it's hard to explain. I added the Lamictal initially to help with some of the impulsiveness and hypomanic stuff that came with Celexa. It ended up doing a great job for motivation and some interpersonal stuff.
since I've lowered my dose to 150mg from 200mg (it causes cognitive, headache, and sleep issues for me) I end up feeling very combative/irritable/dysphoric frequently after I take it. Food and coffee tamp this down for a while but it can creep back in. I've skipped a dose now and then to see it's just the time of day but it's def the Lamictal.
This is the end of the thread.
