In 1981 I was lucky and found Nardil which brought me back from 3 yrs. of a depression/anxiety state I can't explain. Totally fearful of sheer insanity.
During that time I became addicted to benzos and went through numerous withdrawals.
This post is for Nardil users and anyone addicted to benzos.
First I would recommend Gavis Nardil. They come in sealed air tight bottles with 60 pills. A desiccant is inside. Do not accept anything else. Some pharmacies break the bottles down and dump "3" bottles into "1" and toss the desiccant. Cheaper to ship. The desiccant is very important as the sulfur compound will start reacting with water. You'll smell this sulfur when you open the bottle which means the Nardil ( phenelzine sulfate ) has started reacting. Thus the medicine is significantly less effective and every time you open the bottle you expose the pills to more moisture. I suspect that is why some individuals do not have success with Nardil.
I was taking 2mg Klonopin a day and couldn't get off them. The last time I tried I spent 10 days in misery and finally surrendered. @ "3" weeks ago I decided to try again. I went cold turkey on Klonopin and didn't have "any" withdrawal. The only thing I can attribute that to is "2" days before stopping I started taking GNC chewable "Be Beautiful" supplement with 1000% RDA Biotin. I've taken B complex in the past with high doses of Biotin and didn't notice anything. Maybe the chewable helps assure you get the biotin into your system?
I did a little checking and Biotin is required for the GABA in the brain. ( benzos do the same thing ) There is research that biotin may effect hair growth. My hair has stopped falling out.
Anyway I'm sticking with the Biotin and have reduced my Nardil from 90 mg to 75 mg. Will stay there for a few weeks and continue to reduce.

I've been taking Nardil for @33 years. It' been the only AD that has brought me out of depression. As to the Klonopin I used it as my job required more and more presentations. The Nardil never reduced the anxiety of public speaking.
It did stop my panic attacks and general anxiety.
If your going to use Nardil please consider the Gavis brand and insure the desiccant stays in the bottle.
This is the end of the thread.
