I'm on: 30 Abilify 1200 Trileptal 100 Lamictal.
I'm thinking...what if dropping the Abilify (slooowly) would improve my depression and motivation?
I was also thinking of adding Remeron at night.
Your thoughts?

I think its a bad idea. Isn't abilify a stimulating drug? The only way it would zap your energy is if it prevents you from sleeping, like it did for me. Plus it gave me serious hypotension, I would almost pass out when standing. You have said how good a drug abilify is. Why do you want to stop it?

Bad bad idea to try to discontinue it. As Zyprexa said you have high praises for abilify. Don't mess up a good thing for you. Think back to what has happened in the past. Then stick with what works for you. Can I say please? Phillipa

I'll just stay on it. I do better on Abillify than off of it.

I'm assuming you're reason for wanting to discontinue is that you are experiencing unwanted side effects? Does it have to be an all or nothing approach? It sounds like staying on it is what's best, but maybe you could talk to your doctor about a lower maintaining dose?

Aren't you schizoaffective? If you are that would be a bad idea.
I don't think it will help with your depression anyway.

I'm just not concentrating very well. And the current focus on my treatment seems to be reducing agitation and such, so...nothing stimulating for me :-( Probably for the best, lol.
I don't see the doc for 3 months (public health...I'm "in recovery"). If anything, they're giving me more "STAY CALM!" meds, including PRN neurontin and PRN Risperdal. Somebody needs tranqs, apparently...
...anyway, thanks for all the input!
