Dr. started me on 0.1mg a day when needed. I felt extreme calm and improved sleep immediately and reduced social anxiety. A week later depression severe. Clonidine taken with clonazepam seems to have exponential effect.
I can see how clonidine can be useful if it weren't for the depression.
Had a similar reaction when Dr. put me on Diazepam 30mg / day for a few weeks. It made me seriously depressed too. Had to go back on Clonazepam.

it works on certain sites, not gaba, but it does depress some of nuerotransmitters but not directly , it makes you kinda sluggish, but it does work for rapid heart beat, and the shakes from adrenaline anxiety
maybe ask about klonopin

I tried taking clonidine for excessive sweating, and both times I got very depressed within hours. Don't know why neurotransmitter-wise, but thought I'd let you know you're not alone in this reaction.

Clonidine: NE alpha-2 receptor agonism.
This mechanism is the opposite of:
Remeron: NE alpha-2 receptor antagonism.

Very interesting. I guess there isn't an antagonist available in the US besides yohimbine? I wonder if that's worth an experiment.
