I was given Flexiril by my dentist and I am on effexor, but a tiny dose(20mg). The literature points to a "serious" drug interaction between the two. it states that serotonin syndrome could potentially occur. It recommends close supervision or to seek an alternative drug.
My question is, has anyone else taken an snri or ssri with Flexiril?

> My question is, has anyone else taken an snri or ssri with Flexiril?I've taken it with Remeron and didn't have problems..I'd say you're on such a low dose of Effexor you should be Ok. I don't like Flexiril though it tends to make me feel depressed...

It's a muscle relaxer. It can help pain for some people.

I've taken Flexeril on Brintellix, Lexapro and Paxil. No problema.
If you took a lot of Flexeril with your antidepressant you would precipitate Serotonin Syndrome. BUT, that's if you took A LOT of Flexeril-it is chemically similar to tricyclic antidepressants.
