Hi, I cut my trazodone from 150 mg to 100 last night and it took me 2 hours longer to fall asleep and I only slept for 5 hours. I'm assuming this is a withdrawal of some sort. How long does the dose reduction withdrawal last? Thanks in advance.

You might try going down slower (by 25's). I've never come off a high dose of trazodone, so I don't know for sure.
If sleep is an issue, you could try adding some Benadryl. Magnesium might help too.

Thanks, that's probably a good suggestion. I didn't think of it because there isn't a perforation that allows you to cut it down by 25, but I guess I could just cut it with a pill cutter.

Hello, babbler, I've had some success with tizanadine before bed. It's prescribed for my fibromyalgia/cfs and works wonderful double duty for muscle relaxation and sleep. Not like flexoril (sp.) or many other muscle relaxants.
Maybe it would work as you taper?
