I'm on a trial of Wellbutrin 100 mg for schizoaffective disorder. It's low dose. Is this a safe combination?
Current psych meds:
Wellbutrin 100 mg
Cymbalta 60 mg
BuSpar 15 mg bid
Trazodone 50 mg
Latuda 80 mg
Invega Sustenna 234 mgThanks for any feedback on adding Wellbutrin 100 mg to my med regimen.

I think wellbutrin has some drug-drug interactions with neuroleptics and other antidepressants. You may want to run it through an interactions checker.

I used an interaction checker. I'm not too concerned since I'm taking a low dose.

I'm actually going to try 100 mg Wellbutrin bid. I believe that's the recommended starting dose.

I'm keeping the dose low to play it safe. I don't want to get too stimulated. I take just 100 mg Wellbutrin in the morning.

It may trigger positive symptoms, as it does enhance dopaminergic transmission.

So far no adverse effects with 200 mg / day Wellbutrin. I feel a little better; more energy, not so apathetic.

I had to stop taking it. I was starting to feel really tense and the voices came back. I'm feeling better now since I didn't take any Wellbutrin today. Oh well. A failed trial. No big deal. Now I have a bunch of Wellbutrin that I don't need.

Try to stay away from dopaminergic substances.
They are not good for us schizo-folks
