I take 1200 Trileptal (600 AM, 600 PM) and 100 Lamictal. Also on 30 Abilify and Orthomolecular (complicated vitamin protocol).
100 Lamictal is good for low moods. Better than Tofranil, that's for sure. But...
...towards the middle, sometimes end of the day, my brain doesn't seem to work quite right. I don't know what gives.
2 anticonvulsants=cognitive problems? Would I be better off on maybe 200-400 lamictal alone, no trileptal?

CE haven't you been doing well again? Thinking of returning to school online? If the answer is yes than I would leave things the way they are. As you are doing very well. Phillipa

yup, you're going to have to deal with more cognitive impairment the more anticonvulsant you're on. Anticonvulsants slow neurotransmition.
If you're looking for a stronger antidepressant effect, then Lamictal is a better choice and at 400 mgs will be equivalent to the 1200 mgs of trileptal you take.

thanks, eric and phillipa.
So, eric...maybe drop the trileptal in favor of 400 lamictal? That'd get me down to 2 daily meds and an occasional night time 2-3mgs/Risperidone.
What do you think?

It may be worth a shot especially since Lamictal helps more with depression.

CE I see a pattern when you are doing well you want to stop a med. Then you disappear for a while. Don't know where you go but when back you are back on your meds and again doing well. Should you considered dropping a med? Phillipa
