There are surely studies being done, but since a few months ago, CBD is also available in Germany on prescription. So you could have much easier access to it that way, if that's what you (and your doc) would like to try.

Good luck. And interesting study. I enjoy marijuana but it can make my psychotic symptoms worse. I'd like to try CBD. Thanks for sharing.

Good luck, too. I tried CBD this year, but not for psychotic symptoms but for insomnia. Made me paranoid as heck and stoned (not in a good way) the next day. Here in California every other person has a prescription, and from what I understand, people react individually with no exact way to predict, so you could give it a try and have good results.
By the way, I slept like a log.

Yes, I was given a sample of CBD tincture. I think the CBD strain is available to smoke or to vaporize. Not sure how it's all done. The tincture was strong. First night ten drops knocked me out. I dialed it back to about six drops. Still, didn't work for me.

It made you paranoid? Its supposed to do the opposite!
Sure that there was no THC in it?

Those are the two major studies.
Brazil 2006: Cannabidiol compared to Haldol and Clozapine.
Cannabidiol seemed to have been equally effective.
http://www.scielo.br/pdf/bjmbr/v39n4/6164.pdfGermany, recently. Cannabidiol equally effective as Amisulpride.

Its very interesting.

I belive it. When I'm off meds, I usualy end up smoking MJ. Usually a version that is lower in THC.

Id never do that.. a psychotic episode is just too painful for everyone involved and even for those that are only indirectly affected. No fun.
Im looking for the cheapest source of CBD possible though. I have contacted an attorney to inform me about Germanys rules and regulations. I hope that way i soon know what i am allowed to do and what not.
Then i can do more research.
Im throwing in those links again with new ones.

I love that it says it is doing the Opposite of THC. Because when i smoked i always became EXTREMELY self conscious. Maybe this will kick that social anxiety in the butt as well.
I am exited and i hope i can do this both legally and financially.
My father has declared his support first time i told him about it.

Whats the difference, I'm already psychotic from being off the meds. Plus it keeps me from going nuts. I would rather the meds.

The only thing i am worried about is wether Cannabidiol is very sedating. I may have to use an antidote for that...
Thoughts?

I think CBD sounds amazing.. i have heard that low doses are stimulating and high doses are (innitially) sedating.
That may explain why some got paranoid from a low dose.
And the side effects are stuff like inhibition of cancer cell growth. Thats what i call a good treatment. No diabetes, weight gain and movement disorders!
I found Dr, pharmacy and financial help for CBD treatment. Now i only have to wait until my Psychiatrist from Rehab comes back from his Vacation. Since i am in rehab he needs to be on board as well.

This sounds crappy. Although i am told that animal findings do often not translate into humans.

RATIONALE: Several pre-clinical and human-based studies have shown that acutely administered cannabidiol (CBD) can produce anxiolytic-like effects
OBJECTIVES: The present study investigated the effects of chronic administration of CBD on rat behaviour and on the expression of brain proteins.
METHODS: Male Lister-hooded rats (150-200 g, n = 8 per group) received daily injections of CBD (10 mg/kg, i.p.) for 14 days. The rats were subjected to two behavioural tests: locomotor activity and conditioned emotional response (CER). The expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), its receptor tyrosine kinase B (Trk B), extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK1/2) and phospho-ERK1/2 and the transcription factor cyclic AMP response element binding protein activation (CREB) and phospho-CREB were determined in brain regions such as the frontal cortex and hippocampus using Western immunoblotting.
RESULTS: CBD significantly increased the time spent freezing in the CER test with no effect on locomotor activity. CBD significantly reduced BDNF expression in the hippocampus and frontal cortex with no change in the striatum. In addition, CBD significantly reduced TrkB expression in the hippocampus with a strong trend towards reduction in the striatum but had no effect in the frontal cortex. In the hippocampus, CBD had no effect on ERK1/2 or phospho-ERK2, but in the frontal cortex, CBD significantly reduced phospho-ERK1/2 expression without affecting total ERK.
CONCLUSION: Chronic administration of CBD produced an anxiogenic-like effect in clear opposition to the acute anxiolytic profile previously reported. In addition, CBD decreased the expression of proteins that have been shown to be enhanced by chronic treatment with antidepressant/anxiolytic drugs.

Luckly I was not totaly off my meds, just reduced. I told doc it was a bad idea, she was origionly talking about total wash out.I freaked at the idea and managed to just get greatly reduced. I don't know where docs get these crazy ideas from.

Yeah.. if you do reduce APs you got to take an extremly slow taper. Anything else will throw you back and you end up worse and with more APs than you had in the first place.
