look up cariprazine and brexpiprazole, they are 3rd generation partial agonist AAPs like Abilify, but with less agonist properties. no word as to whether they're promising though.

Interesting!

Abilify is great, it just gave me the restless akathisia!

What about trying Abilify with a little bit of Mirapex or an anticholinergic?

I can't try a dopamine agonist, im Schizophrenic!

The biperiden didn't quite do it in terms of getting rid of the akathisia. It was really hard akathisia

When are those going to hit the market? (nm)

Im especially interested in brexpiprazole.. if it is true that it has less akathisia, restlessness and insomnia than other treatments.

Akathisia and restlessness is what ended my abilify trial. I liked it alot if it weren't for those side effects.

They were really strong so theres no way im trying again.

I believe both are in Phase III trials, the latest phase before a drug is able to submit for FDA approval.

I like Abilify and it's doing wonders for me, but things were to change I would only be interested in cariprazine (or Invega, which I haven't tried) because brexpiprazole is an SSRI -- can't take that on an MAOI.

But I stopped Mirapex two days ago, so let's see whether I develop some sort of akathisia from Abilify. I only had very minor feelings of it when I started the drug at 10mg. It was worse on Latuda.

I don't think I'll have any problems though, and I believe that optimism contributes to a positive placebo response whereby I am less likely to get said side effect. That and Namenda XR (memantine) is replacing the Mirapex, and that supposedly has some activity at D2 receptors possibly to deal with any akathisia risk.
