Since Tegretol rocks, but isn't helping the sleep or depression, my doc suggested either adding low dose Geodon to see if it would help with sleep & depression. I'm kind of reluctant since I just now stopped twitching from being on a Geodon for so many years.
Or, she suggested using Seroquel for sleep and low dose Lamictal for depression.
I guess I'm having a hard time with being on a combo of meds to treat my mixed BP. I hate it, but I need sleep and relief from depression.
I think low dose Lamictal would help much better for depression than Geodon. And I know Seroquel gives great sleep.
I'm just not sure I can go back to the twitching on Geodon, plus it doesn't lift the depression like Lamictal.
Is my thinking right? To twitch or to take 3 meds. I'm i missing something? Right now I'm only on Tegretol.
I've always had a hard time grasping the combo thing. Why can't it just be more simple.

Why not try mirtazapine? It will help with depression a whole lot more than Lamictal or Geodon and will help you sleep.

Doesn't it cause a lot of weight gain?

Please, please stop screwing around with antipsychotics, you don't need them. Take my Mirtazapine suggestion seriously-its an AD, but it works very differently than any of the ADs you've been on.

I'll ask my doc about it when I see her.

It can. But its not as bad as Seroquel.
