Hi everyone, I've been on prozac, 10mg since 1/13 (about 6.5 weeks) and am still dealing with higher levels of generalized anxiety. My mood, outside of the anxiety, is actually pretty good so I suppose it's doing what it's intended (mild depression and GAD) on the depression front, but am still bothered by this incessant anxiety.
Is there a chance that the anxiety will go away on its own? Or is it here to stay? Thanks!

Will your doctor prescribe a benzo for the anxiety or half the dose? I also got horrible anxiety from Prozac. Did you feel better the first few days lots of energy? I did but it turned to panic then so went off it. Phillipa

Ask your doc if you can dump the prozac and go over to mirtazapine (Remeron)
It releives anxiety and depression very well, and there is no start up anxiety with it
If you're still getting anxiety after 6 weeks, I think you can safely say prozac isnt the drug for you.

Sounds like the Prozac is not going to help with your anxiety. Six weeks is long enough to know...
Try something else. Prozac can be activating. Try Brintellix - its amazing for anxiety.
