i really don't think i need to be on lamictal becayuse it makes so spaced out....i can just go into a daydream phase, and stay in it....the 400mgs is ok, because it makes things passive, yet it blunts learning....it's hard to concentrate and rerember things on lamictal at 400mg
topamax maybe to swtich off lamictal....
it's good because i don't feel depressed, but at the time i'm spaced out....passive....and with the zyprexa it really can be a mind blunter....
bipolar meds, not for me

lamictal is horrid.Dude i know people will hate me for this but if it werent for parnate id be a sad case, cause i wont touch 95 percent of the meds out there.
Parnate however is very tricky,me and chairman maoi used to discuss this in email, parnate after its initial stimulation dies fast,HOWEVER its only cause and this is my expernce but parnate in my view from ten years of using it MUST BE AUGMENTED.
Also the doses that they recomend are absurd. They bough the drug from a lone chemisct,i read up on this, and they know little to nothing on its workings,i found this out first hand when i called once and spoke to the companys pharm tech.
Again since they bought it from a lone chemist and are not the actual creators of it,they are clueless. There is a article that states how parnate must be used, first it states the dose needs to be set high for treatment resisant cases, second the addition of a stimulant also must be used, and unlike ssris maois actualy have some sceince to it as the brain platelets of maoi inhibitation can be measured,in the study this was used to reach 80 percent inhibititation.
So to make parnate work,i promise you will need to use a higher dose then the data sheet states, usualy 60 to 90 with 120 being the high and the addition of a mild stimulant such as modfanil.
From there depending on how you feel you can also add caffiene which i found has a synergy with parnate, and klonopin goes hand in hand with parnate if your over stimulated.....here are the studies about what i spoke about, and aside from them in my own view and my girls shaslinger we both find the same to be true....
"A substantial number of depressed patients will experience a chronic, treatment-resistant affective disorder. Aggressive treatment of these patients with various drug combinations, unconventional antidepressants, or electroconvulsive therapy has met with only partial success. There remains a pressing need to identify more effective methods of utilizing "first-line" antidepressant agents to achieve a more rapid therapeutic action. To this end, we initiated a study using high doses of the MAO inhibitor tranylcypromine, at a range of 90 mg to 170 mg daily, in seven refractory depressed patients who had failed to respond to at least three prior treatments regimens. Four out of seven subjects (57%), who had failed to respond to a mean of 8 +/- 5 prior treatment, had a complete response, and one patient had a partial response to high dose tranylcypromine. The mean SD maximum tranylcypromine dose for the responders was 112 +/- 16 mg daily (range 90 mg to 130 mg). Response did not appear to be a function of severity of illness, duration of present episode, or the number of prior treatment failures. Overall, the side effect profile was favorable, and no "cheese reactions" were encountered. These observations are of clinical significance and suggest the need for further controlled studies using high doses of tranylcypromine."

yea...lamotragine messes with the memory and the electrical firing in the brain, thats why its a siezure medication, and they use it now as a mood levelizer.....the electric firing is altered, thats why it changes the thinking
it's good with some people because i read some who have depression are good with it at 200mg, but im on 400mg because i have mood swings, my doctor is running a trial, but i really don't think i would go to 600mg.....that would wipe me out to cloud 9....
it is ok AD, but still i've read bad things about it....that and paxil.....
Parnate is a vary good medicine....i asked my doctor about it whne i was in rehab, she looked at me, and said....your fine where you are....she told me she would never use parnate because of it's MAOI side effects, so im on prozac 60mg's and it's working ok....it's lost alot of it's effect over the years....when i first start proz it had a uplife in the mood, i felt a warm feeling, like connecting with people, and started to get in better moods, but after 2010....it started to levelize and the brain adapted to it....so that sucks.....parnate is similar to amphetamine....i read that in many articles....that's why it's antidepressant effects are strong....

Actualy wikipedia latetest entry via a study has discredited its effects to its similiar amphetamine build.
It states last that its robsut effect is still unclear.
As far as the interactions are going, its a shame that such a possable option as parnate goes unused, ive been on it ten years plus and you seen my pics rj i havent missed many meals.lol.Glad your current meds are helping.

But, RJ, why are you taking any of these drugs at all? You're not depressed (or are you)? You're not bipolar (or are you)? You're not psychotic (or are you)?
Your account of yourself is that you have ADHD and were wrenched, unreasonably, from stimulants that help you.
Since then, you take drugs for conditions you don't have that don't make you feel better. You say you can't get what you want and need (stimulants) because of your p-doc. Okay. But why take drugs that you don't want or need and that don't help you? Why not just go off psych meds?
I really don't get your situation.

my doctors have said over again that i am manic at times, and that's they have told me to take zyprexa and lamictal...the mania is not mania, it's hyperactity....have no concentration, and they used heavy doses of zyprexa and geodon together and it shut me up, but i was trapped in my own head....drugs blocked out EVERYTHING...it's crazy...and there using the opposite of what should be used, but still....i just go along with it....
the nuvigil is the only stimulant i can take right now....
