I've started a low dose (12.5) of Lamictal and it works great for depression. However, I am having terrible muscle aches and eye twitches.
Will the terrible muscle aches go away or is this something that I have to live with on Lamictal?

Could it be that you have some form of allergy or do have an autoimmune illness which is effecting your joints and muscles. Not trying to scare you. Have you seen a rheumatologist? Did you doc ever suggest one or at least blood work to see if you could have one? Phillipa

Hi Phillipa! I got all the blood work for autoimmune and arthritis and everything is clean, thank goodness.
For some reason, I just swell up with anti seizure meds.
Since I loved how Lamictal lifted my depression, I was thinking of dosing down to see if it would still work.

To either go down on the Trileptal dose or to find another med that isn't an anti seizure med. It's a rare side effect, but anti seizure meds can cause swelling.
So, now I'm not sure what to take. I have some low dose depakote, but it makes me depressed.

You really need to try something new. Ditch the Trileptal, Depakote and Lamictal and try something like Lyrica or Zonegran. Maybe even Tompomax or Carbamazapine.
