...I'm developing one. At 23, I was given hardcore, involuntary ect.
At 28, I had a spiritual awakening. I know, you may not believe in such, but please...follow along...
...now, at 29, I'm becoming a whole new person, sans a lot of memories.
Its crazy! My IQ is higher now than it was 8-10 years ago. I'm bright eyed. I'm lucid. I respond to meds. No, its not the ECT, or not *just* the ect, I guess...
I would say its Jesus. Maybe some of you are atheists or believe in something/somebody else. Fine. Just know that a "spiritual awakening" changed a victim of psychiatry into...
...an unemployed ne'er do well with white collar upper middle class people who take care of him. LOL. What were you expecting? Some crazy muthafuck@ to become a corporate CEO or something?
But I'm a potentially productive member of a community, possibly this one, where I was hated and quite degenerate and wretched and stupid and...

Hey bro, right there with you.
You are not crazy. Jesus is seeking every single person to wake up to Him. I am glad that happened.
I tell people all the time....I did not see any miracle healings along the way....but the entire thing, looking in hindsite, was all a miracle. The "coincidences" that turned me in a different direction than I was headed...the "good luck moments"...."it happens to everyone sometimes"....the right science article at the right time at the right place....the right conversation with the right doctor at the right time and place...."light bulb instant reverlations"....instincts....discernment....wisdom both gained and automatic download....ability to "see" what previously was not seen but was there the whole time....all this stuff was absolutely crucial in my journeys of fighting psychiatric symptoms.
We only have 5 senses. How many others are there we don't know about?
Magnetism. Radio waves. Cell phone waves. Many other examples....we can't sense that these are there....they can go right through us and we don't even feel it....so they don't exist, right? Well, they are proven by other means, but you see the point I'm trying to make.
Jesus is real.
Jesus is still in the healing business.

I believe in the power of spiritual practice. I do not believe in a christian god or in any god (in the sense of an actual supernatural entity). Sorry, but Jesus doesn't do it for me.

I'm with you. And you might not be able to see radioactive waves but the proof is in the x-rays or others. It's been suggested that cell phones can cause cancer for years. Jury still out on this one. Phillipa

Hey C_E....
That is *excellent* you found this new strength. The same thing has helped me in the past, and thanks to your post, I realize I have a lot of thinking and work to do. Spiritual growth is SO helpful for mental illness."I believe, in kingdom come, where all the colours, bleed into one.."
Celebrate and rejoice my friend!Jay :-)
