I was recently switched from Zyprexa to Doxepin for sedation properties. The former used to give me a hangover and the Doxepin does not so I like it. But in the last couple of days, I've been out in the city and quite convinced that I was in a completely different city. Anyone have such an experience? I'm wondering if the anti-psychotic properties of Zyprexa kept those hitherto unknown or diagnosed symptoms in check. I've been profoundly depressed for about 8 months and take Pazil and Wellbutrin for depression. The "Pit" has been particularly bad for the past 2-3 weeks. Suicidally bad. And now I think I'm somewhere else? It's getting interesting to say the least. Your thoughts if any?

You're convinced you're in another city, yet you know you have convinced yourself of this. You are identifying a distorted thought, which to me, indicates you're not quite psychotic.
Are you hearing things?

the part where you don't know where you are or "completlely diffrent" city is associated with dissociation, and maybe some mild psychosis involved....if you think your someone else....there's lots of things that could be causing that...Lithium is going to help with suicidal thoughts....
could you be more specific maybe so we can help you?

"if you think your someone else" correction "somewhere else"
thats dissociation, and maybe some passive psychosis, i've had that expierince twice, one in 2004 when i was taking wellbutrin, i lost reality, i was on 450mgs with adderall, i don't know what happened but i would be driving and it seemed i was in a delirium state, it was scary.....then in 2008 i was taking Vyvnase with abilify and Seroquel, i skipped the Vyvanse that day and only took Abilify and Seroquel....i lost reality....thought i was somwhere else...it was so scattered its hard to explain.....
you should try to get on a benzo for anxiety if you have it

Ah. It's dissociation. I have a major problem with that anyway and have lost most of the past 2-3 weeks. I don't hear things and have no other related symptoms. It's happening in the slowest of motions and is over before I clue in. So the aforementioned meds probably don't affect this? There was a calming with Zyprexa that I miss but I love being awake first thing. Except when in the "Pit" of course. Dissociation helps pass the time these days.

Feeling like you're in a different city is probably what they call "de-realization." I used to have it a lot when I was depressed. This feeling like the world was unreal, nothing seemed right. Underneath it all, I think, was a feeling that I didn't feel real in the world.

How much Zyprexa did you previously take, and how quickly did you come off it?
