I have known that hyponatremia is a side effect of Trileptal and that it produces edema.
But is there anything that can be done about it besides stopping the med?
Is it dangerous?
Can you just take a water pill? Drink more water?
Take supplements?

>Yes. It's very dangerous. I don't know if there is anything to do but why wouldn't you just stop the Trileptal?. Drinking more water is the last thing you would want to do.

How do you know for sure if you have this from Trileptal?
I've failed so many meds and the irritability is terrible. It seems like Trileptal really helps me.

edema alone is not proof of hyponatremia.

Do you actually have hyponatraemia? What is your sodium level (on your last blood test)?

I haven't had a doctor check my sodium levels.
I seem to just have edema issues in my feet.

Certain blood pressure meds cause swollen feet, especially amlodipine (Norvasc/Istin). Do you take anything similar?
