I know a typo as Ativan to Xanax. I took both. Both were fine for me. Ativan lasts a bit longer than Xanax. Xanax is more for panic. I found Ativan about the same. Phillipa

Are you taking an adequate dose of Xanax?
0.5mg of Xanax can replace 1mg of Ativan (roughly)
If you arnt taking at this ration, you might be getting some withdrawls
You could also consider cross tapering (taking half your dose of Ativan and half your dose of Xanax for a few days until your body adjusts)

I just read your old post that you have replaced 1mg of Ativan with 0.25mg of Xanax - in effect, you have cut your dose in half overnight
You are suffering withdrawl symptoms
I'd ask the doc of you can increase the Xanax to 0.5mg three times a day
