My head has been shaking off and on since 1979, I used to be very social and since I got this life altering problem, I have little to no social life, going on my third divorce, it is the most miserable thing a person can go through, not only does my head shake like a leaf but I get tons of pressuse in my neck about 30 seconds before I shake, I have gone to every type of doctor and not one of them have seen this happen to ANYONE , I started going to doctor's again recently after not going for quite a while, you just give up! Tired of no answers and wrong answers, today I went to California Ear Institute and had several tests done, ct scan, pressure test, audio test, the reason I went there is because I went there about 15-18 years ago and they did a high pressure water test in my ears and that activated my shaking, I had no idea I was going to shake like I did with water pressure, so I figured I would go back to this place and maybe get some answers, with all of the new technolgy, when they did the pressure test today (warm air)As soon as the audiologist took off the pressure in my left ear my neck was getting real tight and right then I knew my shakes were coming on (about 14 min) of non stop head shaking, also when this takes place I lose about 85% of my mental capabilities, if anyone has any answers, more suggestions or has this same problem, please help, ps I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, by the way the conclusion today after all of these years is that my anatomy of my ears are perfect, so why do my ears ring everyday and pop and plug up? Why would the pressure applied in my ears activate my shaking, ty

well... i have no earthly idea. you said you are tired of 'wrong answers'. i'm not sure what some of those might be... epilepsy? anxiety? does anything else shake or just your head? what kind of shake? it is visible to others or just to yourself?

I have no idea. Have you seen a neurologist? Did this lead to the divorces or did they trigger episodes. Do you work as Alex had a good question is it visible to you or something that you feel? Phillipa

Yes I did work, I am on short term disability now for about a month, I would have to hide at work, I work in a million sqyare foot building,I can disappear for a while, but this is happening more often, only my dad,ex- wives, 3 doctors, and ex father inlaw have seen this, my three kids have no idea, the shakes disable me of my mental ability to do the simplist things, cooking, writing, simple math, conversation out of the question, it strips me of a normal life, I am to myself most of the time, this is a nitemare

your ear drums control balance and such. Maybe the high pressure they put on your ear drums way back then has messed up some thing with your ear drums. Causing your ears to think they are off balance when you are not, so your head shakes as a result. That's my theory. Other than that I don't know.

No, I went there years ago because of my head shaking, but putting the high pressure water in my ears is what activated it that day, and this week with the high pressure air, but my head shakes without pressure in ears, I would give everything to get rid of this living nightmare, but I appreciate your concern, thank you.
