hi dr bob-

don't want to hijack your thread, sorry!

but, since i know you will read this, i was wondering if the idea of a board could be established about recovery/remission from a mental condition?

i know your site caters to difficult cases and that you have posted a few success stories, but i think a board dedicated to people who got back to 'life' after mental health issues would be absolutely inspiring and life-saving for some of us.

i might be naive. but, i am entering my 3rd year of depression and it seems like 'they' hide the people that get well. ;) in some ways i believe that if my doctors introduced me to somebody who walked down a similar dark path as i am and came-out to see the light again, it would make a greater impact than all the meds and talk. no doc has done that for me.

again, maybe this is not a reality for a place like this. but, surely there are people who have beaten depression, etc? i guess i am suggesting a board of hope; regardless of how ignorant i may seem to many here.

thanks!

john

I think it's an interesting idea. As does Phillipa. What do others think?

i found this extremely empowering and most importantly, hopeful for people like us.

*just a heads-up; there may be some things she mentions that may be triggering...

people do get back to life. i'm finding, for me, depression is a liar. it's time for me to realize people can and do live a meaningful life with all sorts of mental conditions.

i want to learn from people like this...

Sorry to interrupt, but I'd like to redirect follow-ups not about a recovery board to a different thread. Here's a link:
