hello all
I am new here but i have been reading a lot of posts here for the last few weeks. I would love some feedback on my story so here it is:
I went on prozac for depression and anxiety about 4 years ago. One year ago I began getting really annoying muscle aches (possibly joint aches) in my neck, shoulders, back and wrists primarily. I though it was computer/work ergonomics, exercise and diet problems. I changed all of these things with NO CHANGE or relief. This lead me to think it was prozac side effects. After reading forums like this I found out that such side effects are relatively common. I tapered off of Prozac for two weeks and took my last dose about 13 days without much or really any change in muscle/joint problems. SO MY QUESTION IS when will I feel better if it is the meds? I read it might take 5-6 weeks or even 80 days for the fluoextine and norfluoxetine to be gone but does it ALL have to be out to feel any big difference? Is it possible that once it is out my brain still will need to adjust? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING AND I WOULD LOVE SOME FEEDBACK

> - ZurulWelcome. Please don't double post :-)
It's possible since the chemicals are still in your body. Do you know if you move much in your sleep? Hopefully others will chime in here. If you have been to a physician regarding your pain, what did he say?
What about your depression/anxiety symptoms, are they returning?/tensor

thanks for the response! sorry about the double post...didn't realize it haha. I am pretty sure I do move quite a bit in my sleep. my physician didn't really say anything about the ache/pains and agreed when I said it might be lack of exercise or prozac. overall though not very vocal about it. as far as depression/anxiety it never really went away on the meds and hasn't changed since going off. by the way I was on a 20 mg does and tapered using 20 mg so that's what my last dose was.

Could the cause be something else? Age bracket? Older or younger. Arthritis? Phillipa

I'm 24 so arthritis probably isn't it. The reason I think it is the meds is because I changed a lot of posture, exercise, ergonomic things and had no relief.

yes i should have mentioned it in my first post. my main concern at this point though is when I can expect the side effects caused by the prozac to go away. Half-life of norfluoxetine can be as high as 16 days but after two weeks shouldn't i see a difference? or do I have to wait a month or even 6 weeks? I'm just curious if anyone has any similar experiences or knowledge of similar experiences
