I'm going great on 90mg of Nardil along with 75mg of nortriptyline,2mg of Xanax and 1mg of risperidone
The nardil has made a huge difference to my life, I feel normal for the first time in years, and have been able to reduce the Xanax from 4mg a day to 2mg a day with no withdrawl symptoms.
Feeling realy good and confident about the future

I switched from Parnate to Nardil. I feel that I had plateaued on the Parnate at a level that was unacceptable.
I tapered Parnate over the course of 1 week and waited 1 week before beginning Nardil. I am on day 2. I started at 30 mg/day to be followed by 2 days at 45 mg/day. I hope I can tolerate 90 mg/day. I am concerned that hypotension will become particularly problematic because I am also taking prazosin.

That's wonderful to hear, Jono!
Scott, maybe go down a bit on the Prazosin while you are titrating up the Nardil. Once you get to your optimal dose of Nardil, you can increase the Prazosin again if you need to. Hope you have an equally good response!

The low blood pressure thing didnt really bother me, as my BP has always been a bit high even with meds (a pill containing enalapril and hydrochlorothiazide)
It has dropped from 135/90 to 120/80, so whats usualy a side effect has been a positive thing for me
Actualy, nardil has given me no side effects as all

Jono,
I too am glad to hear that you're doing well on Nardil and your other medications, and I think it's really nice that you haven't noticed any side effects that you can attribute to Nardil. May your combo continue to serve you well.

I've been doing pretty good since the increase of zyprexa back to 15mg from 10. All my anger and want to be fitts of rage have quieted down to nothing. I really feel the best I have in 1.5 years, when I was last at 15mg.

That's good news. Keep doing what you're doing.

I have developed mild asthma since starting nardil (about 6 weeks in) - not sure if there is any link, or just coincidence (its been a bad year for allergies here, and my hayfever has been worse than usual) but Nardil has made such a big difference to my life, stopping it is out of the question.
2 "puffs" of a budesonide inhalar every morning and a very occasional puff on an albuterol inhalar are keeping the asthma well controlled, so I think I'll just keep this up till the end of the allergy season, and try stopping the budesonide then.

If Nardil somehow causes inflammation (for instance) it would be interesting to know how that is mediated to see if there are nutritional strategies to help.
I am thinking of all those things I know nothing about with names like tumour necrosis alpha.

Awesome news, Jono! I've stabilized out again on my combo (Lexapro, Tramadol, Ativan and Seroquel). I hope I continue to do ok on this regimen; if not, I'll finally try Nardil!
This is the end of the thread.
