mthfr (gene mutation)

Has anyone here tested positive for the MTHFR and suffered from treatment resistant depression?

I have weaned off various meds (wellbutrin, lamictal, Klonopin since didn't feel much improvement after a year) still on Vyvanse, Lex, Xanax and Ambien. I was recently found to have low ferritin levels which can explain my excessive fatigue (never have I felt this tired) and tested positive for mthfr gene mutation ( I believe one copy of C677T). I had an ischemic colitis incident @ 42 and have very high cholesterol despite my high vegetarian diet (and now gluten free). I began taking Deplin @15mg and didn't feel much of a difference, though it has only been a couple of weeks. However, I increased the dose to 30mg in the last two days and have seen an improvement in my mood, perhaps placebo effect. MTHFR has been linked to psychiatric and cardiovascular problems.
Wonder how many in this forum have had this test done.

Greetings,
ihatedrugs

I didn't have it done but did try Deplin when was new. I discontinued it too expensive and no change. Phillipa
