I asked my pdoc today whether he was considering adding or changing to deep TMS. He said he wanted to see more definitive research first, but also said that, at the APA meetings this year, there were posters for about five companies in the process of developing various forms of deep TMS, and that it appears to be a very promising treatment for the future. It was in striking contrast to the very few posters devoted to new drug development.

This is exciting. I am considering deep TMS for myself.

As you know, I have found regular TMS very helpful, and I'm assuming deep TMS would be even more so. If you do find a way to get it, be sure to tell us about it!

There's another type of brain stimulation that's showing great promise for bipolar and unipolar. It's a form of fMRI, so is not related to TMS or Deep TMS. It was first reported on in 2004, and is in clinical trials now. Maybe it will be available in several years. Here's an article about it:
