I'm in need of a new augmenting strategy for my med regimen of 40mg Parnate, 1/4 a tab of Atenolol, 3000IU Vitamin D, and Xanax as needed (and I hardly ever need it, and when I do, I only take probably 0.25mg or less).
I was reading about augmenting with L-Phenylalanine and that it provided amphetamine-like effects. Hmm... Sounds like something I'd like! The only problem is I keep hearing about the possibilities of a hypertensive crisis.
What is a safe dose? I've heard some say 25mg while other say 250mg! I've already been to the ER many times this year with failed experiments...I'd prefer to take this one a little more carefully...
In addition, what other awesome augments are there for Parnate? I've just had my 10th ECT treatment today and I'm not noticing any side effects like memory loss, but I'm also not noticing much of a profound improvement yet. Any ideas?

I'd be more inclined to try adding nortriptyline, starting at 25mg at bedtime, and increasing to 75mg at bedtime. At that point, I'd get a blood test to ensure that my blood levels were in "the zone"
Your dose of Parnate could also go higher if need be, to 60 or even 80mg per day
