I stopped my B6 supplement about 8 days ago. Started experiencing mood swings 5 of the 8 days, some very severe stuff. Just realized now that it might be not taking my daily 2-4 mg of B6 a day.
But it might just be that 45 mg of Nardil yet again is too much for me to handle (40 days @ 45 mg).
I want to wait until day 60 or 70, but then I'll need to make the decision to go off it or go to 30 mg. Has anyone seen a user report 30 mg work?
Does MAO have greater affinity to metabolize SERT before NE? So will lowering the dose help lower NE levels and less of SERT? Basically I want more SERT, less NE.
Started using Clonidine, it's helping with the shivers and my hands have never been so dry ever. It's fairly cool to never have clammy hands even if it's mild.

Hi,
It depends how sensitive you are to phenelzine and how much do you weight. I weigh 105 kilos and for the first months needed 60mg then after that 90mg.
Godd luck!

No Renauds to cause the cold hands? Or other autoimmune disease? Only asking as this causes the cold hands. But also discoloration. Phillipa

No Raynauds or anything else. My hands aren't discolored, only cold sometimes, but it's nothing like at 60 mg. Really, it's more the infrequent shivers + mood swings atm.

I had numbness in my hands whilst on phenelzine. I supplemented with 100mg B6. It helped alot at 1st, hands felt normal after a week and it stayed that way for roughly 8 months then the numbness came back, and I was still taking 100mg B6. And I'm pretty sure it was due to B6 toxicity. Hence why many supplement companies put much less B6 in thier supplements than they used to.
You could still take 100mg/day untill the numbness & tingling went away, then drop to 10-25mg.

You are wise to be cautious. One strange thing which I've never found the answer to is the fact that at one time (according to medical books & med info leaflets), It was popular to get the desired effect and once settled drop to 1-a-day or even every other day as maintenance. So I'd like to see the studies which helped decide to drop to a maintanance dose.

It worked somewhat for me at 30mg. But no comparison to 45.
Back then, i wanted to take 37,5. This was the first time i took Nardil while i was still sensitive to it.
This is the end of the thread.
