Phenylethylamine supplementation

Posted by dmaxwell23 on April 14, 2013, at 22:41:15

I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has supplemented with Phenylethylamine (PEA) or a related substance.

I believe I have low levels of PEA. I have taken DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA), which is basically slow release PEA, a couple of times with great results. I felt happy and motivated.

My question is this: If I were to supplement PEA to reach a normal level, would it down-regulate my receptors for PEA? Would the negative feedback system come into play?

I would NOT be taking an excessive amount; just enough to normalize my levels.

I would think it would result in negative feedback.
Id say the negative feedback occurs anytime the normal processes that have been occuring in your brain are changed, even if scientifically your brain is thought to be working in an abnormal way.

Just my thoughts.
