Hi!
This is called anhedonia- the inability to feel pleasure or any emotion whatsoever.
I have no emotions, i remember the time before the big anhedonia started.. like 10 years ago when i was 18..I got excited, fell in love, music sounded alive, i can still remember the fresh sparkling sensation in my chest and the smell of the newly grown grass in spring (aaaaaa, i miss it tooooo much.)
Then suddenly blah, complete silence, like the mind was shut down or like the gas run out, there was no more emotions, no feelings only emptiness and thick anhedonia fog.My fellow travelers, I even can't believe this kind of a state is possible.. how this even exists, how can human being even experience such kind of misery...this is worse than cancer!! This even DOES NOT end! The suffering that we all go through, cannot be even explained in words...no one who has experienced this can even possibly even IMAGINE what has happened to us, this is just impossible. I even can't remember what went wrong anymore! Just like people who are deaf who cannot hear, or people who are blind cannot see, we are emotionally paralyzed, we can't feel anything- how can this thing even happen??! We don't even understand why this world exists anymore, it makes no sense at all! This is just inhumane, and to be honest, I'm not sure I even have the strength to even care about life or anhedonia anymore. Anhedonia is probably the worst thing a person can ever experience... All i ever do is seek a cure for this disease. This is like, you look around and think do yourself- it's just what it is..you can't even relate anymore.
I honestly can't even function in life. There's no point in doing anything if there isn't a reward anymore! I even have deleted some parts of what i just wrote as i even can't concentrate anymore. Every morning i wake up i just can't believe that why am i awake again why do i have to suffer all over again. I even don't understand why am i writing this any more, it will even not be useful!
Sorry for bringing the moral down here, i not trying to be negative(what does this word even mean anymore?)
I just want out of this God forsaken state of mind, this just so impossible to exist like this!
I even don't know if i should post this anymore, i don't even see a point!I even can't take Nardil anymore, this is just so confusing to me!
I started Wellbutrin 3 days ago and i even don't feel better, instead i feel as **** as i did before, is there even any success stories for anhedonia with Wellbutrin?

In a way you are in a much better space than I as you have time longevity on your side. Think of all that is being learned today. I know the feelings. When you mention blindness & cancer though I think of my Son who is blind and happy functioning well, Cancer know so many with it. Watched some die this past year. As for the ahedonia I started purposely shutting down my emotions to protect myself from circumstances in life.
Different situations I know. But three days isn't a long time to be on a med. Give it time to build up in your bloodstream. For me years ago was very energizing. Are you on any other meds with it? Phillipa

Did Nardil work for you at some point, and why can't you take it anymore?

I also take Lexapro along with Wellbutrin. I have taken Lexapro for 3 weeks without any positive effects by itself. I can't take Nardil as it is not marketed in my country and importing it legally would be like 200 for 15 days supply. Nardil definitely did the trick, as long as i could get my hands on it.
Well anyways.. today i drank 3 beers and went to SPA afterwards and now back home i'm feeling better....humm, this is very rear for me to feel better, maybe the Wellbutrin is starting to do what it is designed for... this is strange, i have not felt better like for 3 months.
I will let you know if the combo will help me.
Good luck!

I hate to hear about your situation. Do you have any idea what caused it?

I really can't pinpoint actual date when it all started, but it all went overboard somewhere around me being 18.
But hell with that, it seems that the Wellbutrin has kicked in after all, today i woke up feeling fresh, talented and innovative!
I can't believe, just when i was at the end of my rope trying all manmade AD-s without success(except Nardil), Wellbutrin came out of nowhere like a fresh morning breeze. Hope i will continue to have success with this stuff, this is some really good ****.

Hopefully Wellbutrin works out for you.

Hi,First time i took Nardil it kicked in after exactly 14 days, then i run out. The second time around it took about a month to start working. Well, with Nardil it's a good thing that you just can't miss when it kicks in, it will be like turning on the lights.
On the 14th day evening when i was sitting in front of my computer, usually feeling very tired and depressed when suddenly i felt worm rush of euphoria coming all over me. It was just so amazing, like getting out of prison after many years.
Good luck!

The two drugs that I'd suggest are Welbutrin (perhaps plus Remeron at bedtime) or Parnate
Three days is nothing, you need to give in 4 weeks atleast at full doseage (300-450mg/day of Welbutrin) before you write it off
There might be some benifit in taking Welbutrin (300-450mg) in the morning and Remeron (30-45mg) at bedtime
This is the end of the thread.
