Vision problems?

Posted by Sheilac on March 24, 2013, at 17:05:30

Ever since I've been taking Trileptal (which I like) 600mg, my vision has gotten terrible.

I thought someone told me that lowering the dose by even 10% might help. Not sure how ya do that?

Now that the Geodon hyperness has worn off, I'd be ok with that.

Last time I had my eyes checked they were perfect. I hate not being able to read my phone or iPad! I actually have to wear reading glasses to see my iPad?! How bad is that?

I can usually see good in the morning until I take my 300mg Trileptal.

Anyone experience this?

600mg. Not much.

Never wore glasses before - just since starting Trileptal.

I hate it.

The Geodon hyperness has worn off, I think because this time I'm taking Trileptal with it. My husband says I'm a little goofy.

So MAYBE in time I could reduce Trileptal back to 450.

I'm going to discuss this side effect with my pdoc. I hate not being able to see! I know it's the Trileptal because my vision gets bad in the morning after I take it.

I swear I have a pair of glasses in every room.

I'm sure it's the combo of aging and Trileptal.

I think the combo of Geodon and Trileptal is pretty good.

How old are you, if you don't mind my asking. Correlation does not mean causation. Maybe your reading eyes are just going due to age. It happens fast. One day i could read fine, a couple of weeks later, I had a dozen pairs of reading glasses all over the house, in my bag, in my office at work. It all started suddenly when I was about 45.

hi baseball,

That's exactly what I was thinking, too. Happened to me exactly the same way at age 47.

Thanks for posting that, I've been reading along but too darn busy to post....

Yikes! My age!

Crap! I'm 45. It started slowly when I was 44 and has gotten worse in the last 3-6 months. I've really noticed it in the last 3 months.

It's been a year since I went to eye doc. I guess I need to get them checked out again.

I hate pinning this on aging!

It's actually odd for someone over 45 not to need reading glasses. It happens to almost everyone and it happens fast and suddenly. At first, I could hide it by holding books out further from my eyes, but soon that didn't work. I must have a dozen pairs of glasses from CVS and Walgreens.
