From the Gavis phenelzine patient information (http://www.gavispharma.com/downloads/PhenelzinePatientInformation.pdf):
"Each Phenelzine Sulfate Tablets film-coated for oral administration contains phenelzine sulfate equivalent to 15 mg of phenelzine base and the following inactive ingredients: mannitol, USP; colloidal silicon dioxide, NF; povidone, USP; edetate disodium, USP; magnesium stearate, NF; purified water, USP; polyvinyl alcohol-part hydrolyzed USP, polyethylene glycol-3350 NF, FD&C yellow # 6, talc USP and titanium dioxide USP."
As noted above, it has a film coating.

Hello Nardil people
I have found a compounding drug store
That sells enteric capsules for putting Nardil in
Do es anybody think. That this will improve nardils performance.
They say that they could put in all the old ingredians that was in the old Nardil

Hi Cee,
Getting your Nardil compounded might conceivably help to improve its performance. I think that some of those who posted on the Anxiety Community's Nardil forum tried doing that with positive results. I will say that one thing that I noticed when I was taking Pfizer's film-coated Nardil was that the medication seemed to become less effective the longer I kept my pill bottle on the shelf after bringing it back from my pharmacy -- even when I was using the enteric capsules. There is some evidence to indicate that the hydrazine in Nardil tablets can undergo rapid chemical degradation when the tablets are stored in conditions with a relative humidity of at least 80 percent (Lovering et al., 1983), so there is a possibility that exposing film-coated Nardil to moisture for too long might interfere with its effectiveness. My point in mentioning all of this is to drive home the point that I want to make that it would probably be best to get your Nardil compounded right after you pick it up from your pharmacy, if that's possible. That way, if exposing Nardil to too much moisture does interfere with its effectiveness, you'll know that you did what you could to prevent that problem from happening.
Good luck with the compounded Nardil if you decide to try that.
