Taking both luvox and lexapro in tiny doses. I found that the first time I took luvox at 250mg I felt good. Did have to combine ativan with it. I also didn't gain weight. Good luck with your decision. Phillipa

Since I don't know all your psych & medical history I don't know. Maybe call the doc and ask him why he chose what he did? Phillipa

phillipa since you are one of the few on this board who use luvox-can you explain to me is it really an ssri...i have heard some say it really is not...also from what i gather its hardly used because of side effects and drug/drug interactions..there is also a psych doc on the internet who claims it is very dangerous and to stay away

SSRI approved in Europe for depression at first here for OCD now that also in time release it's approved here also for depression/anxious. I found it the least stimulating of all the SSRI's. Amazing at the time I took the 250mg with ativan that it worked so well. Only reason went off then was after almost fighting with the pdoc he literally decided I would be one of the 10 participants in the newly realeased celexa trial. I guess before the drug companies and docs couldn't do this. As for someone saying bad it was implicated in the Columbine murder as the murderer was taking this med. I think hype kept it from being used more at the time. But quite a few of the pdocs I saw at the time loved it. It does potentiate the effects of the benzos other than ativan. I take only synthroid as any other med so don't know the other meds it could potentiate. Hope this helps. Phillipa

well i would use ativan..lamictal is ok but it does raise tegretol..so dr. would have to drop or lower it.....does not interfere with diabetes meds....if viibryd does not help with anxiety ..thinking of giving it a try....so you sound comfortable with it..how much ativan did you take

Joe so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom. So many are losing jobs that surely stinks!!! My diagnosis is OCD anxiety. Started out years ago as panic attacks. If it's okay for you to take SSRI's I say go for it. As a matter of fact cut down on lexapro upped the luvox again a bit and felt better today. I think I took 4mg of ativan when on it? Phillipa
