I need a kinder gentler stim than Adderall IR 40 mg.
Yesterday I wrote a long very civil letter to the FDA before they present before Congress in an attempt to ban e cigs which have been estimated to save 4-8 million live over the next 20 years. The FDA has a blub on their site that e cigs can cause cancer. sighLater on facebook I see yet another post on religion. Forward this and the angels will grant two wishes for you tomorrow. I get angry and say god doesn't grant wishes based on forwarding nonsense.
Not sure if this happens because the dose is wearing off but I need to get off of Adderall.
I don't remember this happening on Vyvanse and I will find a way to pay for it.Maybe I should drop it all, I don't know. Very frustrating. Suggestions once again welcomed.
I know that this class of meds can be a tightrope walk with bipolar.

Focalin?
(dexmethylphenidate)
Focalin is supposed to be "smoother" than Ritalin. It is not an amphetamine, so it might affect you differently. I don't know how expensive it is.

I'm too old to get knocked up. Focalin is cheap.

Are you serious? The FDA wants to outlaw e-cigs? I know people who've been totally unable to quit for years until e-cigs came along. How could it cause more cancer than regular cigs? Boy, that really p**ses me off.

OK...lol Here I go.
It's insane. NYC is trying to ban them. Several countries have banned them. Canada, Australia, Mexico and others. You can still buy the world champ at killing people, cigarettes, but harm reduction? No those are dangerous.I wrote in the letter that lung cancer killed: father 59, mother 73, uncle 83, aunt 80, brother 63.
There is no combustion, no smoke, no tar, and no carcinogens. Food flavoring, nicotine, vegetable glycerin. WTF?
They want to regulate nicotine as they are drinking their third Starbucks of the day.
Our consumer advocate org. CASAA works for free, fighting bans. Cities will ban cigarettes and someone will say, hey put those ecig things in there. Millions of people cannot quit smoking and big pharma's products are an expensive, miserable failure. The most innovative product ever invented to save lives and it comes to this.
I'm on a forum with 100,000 active members and I've yet to hear anyone say, man I felt so much better on cigarettes.
One more thing. About a week before a friend gave me an ecig I told my brother, our father died at 59, I'm 59 f*ck it. I tried the ecig, smoked my last 8 Marlboro Lights and that was 7 months ago.
Do these people really want to send millions of people back to a death sentence? Worse yet, the most dysfunctional, crooked, disrespected *ssh*l*s called Congress are going to decide my fate when they have big tobacco in their back pocket? I'm so frustrated with meds and this I just want to scream.
One day my brothers and I were at my mothers apt and were watching TV. She was already pretty sick. An ad came on about the gov wanted to clamp down harder on cigarettes. My mom didn't cuss much but she said I wish the government would get out of our goddamn lives.
Government is ruining this country. And we're 16 trillion in the hole.
I get carried away on this subject. Somebody has to get angry because government is stripping away our freedom and we pay them! They serve us, we don't serve them. Maybe I should start blogging again.. :)

Hi Phil,
Have you ever tried Ritalin? Maybe it would work better for you. Some people can't tolerate amphetamines and some people can't tolerate Ritalin, it really varies. For me, I can't do amphetamines; they make me too anxious. Ritalin works much better for me.
And Scott has an excellent idea with Focalin. I've tried it and it really is smoother and seems to cause less anxiety. Good luck to you!

I think I did pretty well on Barr generic but I really love Vyvanse, it's just too expensive.
If I tell my doc I've been manic he may pull the plug on the whole deal.
Thanks to a previous psychiatrist who said I showed drug seeking behavior which was a effing joke my doc buys her bs.
One appt she said I was a fast metabolizer and she had never seen anyone take doses as high as me. Six months later I asked her to up the dose on a stim, she did it but put dsb in my chart. She was evil. I hate her guts.

I was careful about asking for a drug increase b/c I was afraid of getting that label of dsb. But it was moot b/c I couldn't tolerate any more Ritalin b/c of hypertension and anxiety. Now the benzos......that's a different story. I'm so tolerant to them now I think it would take about half a bottle of ativan to have an effect on me. Sadly, benzos are out for me forever. :(
And I sympathize with hating a pdoc's guts. I have been through that too. Sometimes it seems that some of them are so devoid of compassion it makes you wonder why they went into the field.

This lady was the only doctor of any kind that ever SCREAMED at me. I brought up some info from here and she screamed that's the internet I've seen thousands of patients! Excuse the f outta me. Just asking, bitch.
Her and her poodle shrink husband in the next office took four two week vacations a year, she took 3 more weeks in December, they were open 4 days a week and didn't take insurance. Hates a strong word, she deserved it.
I've gone to every doctor rating site online and absolutely trashed her.

I'm just happy I've worked my way back up from 15 minute med checks. Ridiculous.
