Didn't I read that you stopped Clonazepan, Scott

If so, why? What dosage were you on and how long did it take you to finally not feel any ill effects from withdrawal?

I'm slowly tapering from 1.5 to one mg and I think my doc will approve. He told me a few months back that I could use it PRN but at the time I was very hesitant to take his advice

Even in pre psychiatry days I would only take 10 mg Valium occasionally and it was a miracle drug for me.

My goal right now is to get on the lowest effective dose of all of my meds gradualy one at a time and still have a therapeutic effect. That should be everyone's goal. And I know it is for many.

Thanks Scott for your continuing support and ideas to help others. You're a standup guy.

I went to ask a patient yesterday and one man was taking 4 mg for sleep. Isn't that equal to approximately 80 mg of diazepam?

Nevermind, found the post (nm)

Hi Phil,

I found the best way to taper off Klonopin was with Valium (it has a similar half-life but you can get really precise with the dosing). I'm not sure what the equivalent is for Klonopin to Valium, but Klonopin is certainly more potent.

Thought I'd give you my input (I have a lot of experience w/ benzos!).
