I take 20 mg Adderall in the morning and it wears off 4 hours later. I take the other 20 mg and lean back in my chair and go completely out. I wake up 20 minutes later and it's all I can do not to go to bed and it doesn't get better. Strange. In 2002 I was taking 90 mg, 400 Wellbutrin, 60 mg Celexa and 3 mg Klonopin. My doc at the time said I had drug seeking behavior. If I did she was my dealer, say no idiot. When my current doc said that was in my file I laughed. Compared to 32 years ago this stuff is baby aspirin.
She once said you are a fast metabolizer and I've never seen anyone on doses as high as you. But Adderall, I'm a drug addict.
I need to find a way to afford Vyvanse.

20mg isnt really a good stimulant, its more like 30-60mg to get you going in a single dose. You have to play checkers, think what your doctor is thinking, ask questions that will give you a mindset of their view. Then you can work with them easy....drug seeking behavior, you never mention any name of any med, just say the symptoms and make it accurate for it be taken seriously....that's my best awnser for now...lol
vyvanse is expensive really....its the market boomer for pharma. The only stuff on the over the counter market....it usally only effects NE...ephedrine, levomethamphetamine - vicks inhalers, caffeine all those ginsieng supplements too....you could check it out but the only thing is NE can make people irrtible and in bad moods at too high levels.
Effexor may could be something to add, but not much effect would have.

My doc briefly prescribed adderall to see if it would help my depression. At first, it felt great -- it was all I could do to stop talking a mile a minute. But within a week, I was feeling weird from it, taking naps. It didn't help my depression at all, except for a few days. I wanted to keep taking it to suppress appetite, so I could lose weight. But my doc said no. He watches me like a hawk for drug-seeking. I have a history of drug and alcohol abuse.

yea....when i was on vyvanse after it wore off about 8 hours...god, i felt washed out...depressed more than the morning before I took it...i started dexedrine, it was more tolerable because damphetamine itself only lasts 3-4 hours and i kinda knew what i was going to feel like after it wore off....yes! the naps...i used take one but I couldnt sleep all the way because it was still in my system even though it wore off....that horrible feeling where you want to sleep and you can't yea....but there's one thing that does work for amphetmaine insomnia...seroquel, and clonzepam...3mg of Klono reduces electrical firing and settles the mind.
You could ask your docttor about Provigil...or Nuvigil, im on that...i have history of drug abuse and eventually my doctor gave me Nuvigil because of the severe depression. It's the way you say it to them....
i always drank after vyvanse wore off...i mean alot of alcohol....the stimulants actually increased the urge to drink after they wore off to counteract the irrtibility from them.
Ask about Provigil really...i think it would help...

I have a long history of abusing everything...32 years ago. I don't even drink.
My doc actually talked me UP on the Vyvanse dose. I was going uh, uh, uh. I think he was actually right but...whatever, you know?
I get only mood brightening and a return to how I used to be with these drugs but Vyvanse was very smooth and lasted 12+ hours. This cheap IR stuff is a bumpy ride and the first script was $60 and the next $100. Complete ripoff.

I could do eight 12" lines of pharmaceutical grade cocaine, take my Seroquel and be out in 40 minutes.
I haven't tested that theory though.

lol there are some doctor in california that will write a script upon a request....well actually there all over the place....their just hidden, usally don't advertise themselves....i was working at a company one time having to do data entry of medical files....did all the boring stuff, and then i came across these people's medical conditions ...i rerember this one lady was on oxymorphone, lorazepam, all these pain medications and their condition was not at all reasonable for their diagnosis to be prescibed all this. Drug people and their Drug doctors....gotta love em..lol
but anyways.... You could ask your doctor to move to 30mg...amphetamine i've read can make people sleep....calming effect on some.

Pharmacists call those doctors easy writers. If I went through all it takes to become a doctor I wouldn't screw it up. Hopefully.

It really is smooth. I think I've taken most all of the stimulants(not sure if that's the right word) and I was pleasantly surprised by Vyvanse.
As it is, only being able to afford Adderall IR, it just shows me how inferior of a drug it is.
And I don't like looking at my pill bottle and seeing Amphetamine on it.
If only my doctor could understand how much I hate the street drug meth. I think it's a contender for worst drug on the planet. I hate what it did to me and how many friends I lost to it. The moment I said no more was the moment I started hating it and being around people that used it. I think it had some to do with helping bipolar along. The very nature of cocaine and meth use is they basically mimics bipolar and and cause psychosis. You go way up high then come crashing down like a building implosion. Then repeat. When I ran out of either I hit some of the lowest lows of my life.
The evil trick of these drugs is that they are awesome the first several times you use them. Keep using and you will be in a world of hurt. It's very sad.

I take up to (2)15mg tabs daily as needed. Most days i just one tab in the morning. Adderal quiets my mind and even makes me sleepy. For some reason, if I take 1/2 a pill (7.5 mg) I get a wired feeling. I can't explain why this happens, but I think I've read about others having this reaction.
