She was my girl and I miss her as do my other grownup friends to the point of getting choked up just mentioning her name.
She was sitting on her couch with her guitar and started singing this song while reading the lyrics off of her laptop and her recording engineer instinctively hit record. She died not long after and Salaam Remi, her producer, built the music around the song.
Losing her was not like losing a family member, it was worse.

Tragedy but genius
"So I started listening to Amy Winehouse on YouTube and now Im like an Amy Winehouse fanatic! If I believed in reincarnation, I would firmly believe that Amy Winehouse is the reincarnation of Maria Callas ... they both are so demonically talented." - Linda Ronstadt
"She was the only true jazz singer in music today."
"She knew every song on Sarah Vaughn's albums. She was the real deal."Tony Bennett
"All she required was one guitar, one stage, and a mic. No lasers, no twenty costumes changes, no lady gaga, britney spears clones all doing the same over-produced, no auto-tune or 20 fake tan backup dancers humping each other. When she was on, no singer could touch her."

There are some people that if they don't know you just can't tell them.
Louis ArmstrongI don't grieve for Amy's death as much as I grieve for people that listen but don't hear. Read the news, without Amy Adele and Duffy may still be playing the UK club circuit.
Lioness was released last Dec and went straight to #1 in the UK selling 200,000 copies the first week.
I wonder how they remembered Amy?Of almost all of the female singers like Adele I hear legend mentioned. Amy is the only one where I sometimes hear genius mentioned. In 100 years, we'll know.
Adele's tribute to Amy. BTW, I love Adele. A great lady and monster talent.
