The spike in anxiety I experienced 3 weeks or so ago has burned it self out, I'm back down to 2mg of alprazolam a day (from 3mg) and am feeling calm and at ease.
I'm thinking that I'll give it a couple more weeks for things to settle, then I'll try and drop back to 1.5mg of Xanax a day, then after a few more weeks to 1mg
I'm not going to be obsessive, it the reduction compromises my happiness or my ability to function effectively at work and at home and socialy, I'll go back up to 2mg, but if i can reduce while times are good, I will.

Jono that's great. Seems I try and do it and can't. After 40 some odd years at a low dose you would think I could. How long did it take you to recover? Seems that I don't recover from stress anymore it accumlates and I look for more subconsciously to feel like I have something to deal with. I do distinctly remember when I also could just not take pills and do fine. I'm so glad for you and the fact that stressful events have gone done in your life and back to normal. Phillipa

Its strange Phillips, it just comes and goes for no reason, I was incredibly anxious for 2 weeks, yet there were no stresses in my life or anything, and it went away again for no apparent reason.
I wouldnt worry about the low dose of benzos you take Phillipa, jus tthink of them like a diabetic tyhinks of his insulin, replacing somthing that your body isnt prodicing naturaly
