Hi all,
Is anyone taking one of these meds and happy with the results? I just tried Nardil, was unable to tolerate it, and I am too scared now to try Parnate. But maybe I could try one of the "weaker" MAOIs.
EMSAM I was very allergic to (adhesive) and had to discontinue.
Anyone on Marplan or Selegiline?
Thank you,
Roslynn

Darn and Emsam would be the ticket. No way aroung the adhesive issure? I'd guess seligline would be the closest to Emsam? Phillipa

Marplan and Nardil are both hydrazines, and their side effects are similar, Parnate is from a different chemical family, and its side effect profile is reasonably different.
I'd be inclined to try Parnate, if you think an MAOI is what you need, starting off at 1 x 10mg tablet per day and increasing slowly, say by 1 pill per week, until you reach a theraputic dose

I always thought these were the same med? The wiki page states Emsam is alternate name for Selegiline. I ask this because I been on Selegiline with some very positive results. It helped partially for my melancholic depression with some bumps in the road. I don't remember why I stopped it but there were periods of ''better'' then ''worse'' then ''better'' etc.

Alex I think they are the same one being by mouth and one on the skin. Phillipa
