Posted by rjlockhart37 on September 11, 2012, at 15:41:46

i just reseached this....there can be too much enzymes that prevent the effect of the medication. Is there any way to scan this? or medication to treat this?

rj - I think you're cluthching at straws buddy, I doubt that excessive enzymes would prevent the effect of every medication except for ones with an abuse potential.

Maybe you need to explore other avenues besides medicating unhappiness?

Perhaps a healthy diet and some exercise should help...

yea ... i actually had googled this and it came up with saying that gastic bypass can interfere with med absorption...causing it not go through clearance, or whatever its suppose to do in the small part of the stomach.

thanks...L)

yea...that part is nothing but a matter of choice to get out and do it. There's alot of choices i've made that ended up bad...like people told me to go out make friends...i did...and then they made fun of me and started bad rumors, and then the people that told me to do this, started critizing me over and over that I didnt listen to them. You get the picture...? its vary close to my metaphorical situations...

anyways...yea...red bull, and the gym If I made that my life...i would be one cut dude.

I wasnt trying to kick you when you were down RJ - I was trying to say that I think the reason the drugs arnt making you happy is that your issues arnt ones that will respond to psychotrophic drugs alone, that until you're able to fix certain things in your life, no pill is going to
make you feel totaly happy.

I think as well as a psychiatriast, you would get great benifit from seeing a psychologist and a social worker regularly, to enable you to make some life changes, and adjust to your situation.

Medication will always probably have a role to play, but its perhaps expectiong too much to expect drugs to fix everything.

That was the attitude from the 50's to the 70's, when women with unhappy marriges, who couldnt cope with their kids, or who were stuck at home doing housework all day devoid of interaction with adults were given Dexamyl, Miltown and Librium - it didnt work then, and it wont work now with todays drugs.

Next time you see your psychiatrist, ask him or her about regualrly seeing a psychologist and a social worker regularly.

I think one of the biggest steps you could take is getting a job, it doesnt have to be a great job, it could just be working in a Walmart or somthing, but it would give you some independence, some money of your own, a reason to get up every day, interaction with some new, different people, a boost in self esteam and a heap of other stuff.

Sorry if what I said sounded mean, it wasnt meant to be a kick when you were already down

Jon

And, just to be sure..... if you beleive that your body is destroying the meds before they get into your system, ask your doctor to tast your blood levels, and check that they are in the theraputic range

thanks....I know that all of it is based on life issues and not on medication...yes, i can't sit around and think that prozac is going to make me the person I want to be....or dexedrine, adderall...its just vary difficult to function without them and people view me as a drug addict, when in turn that its a complicated sitation that is not understood and most of it is blamed for addiction.

It really makes me mad because I should of got out into the world instead of letting my mental issues control me, I should control them and my life...

yea...its ok, don't worry about me...no big problems that are happening right now. It's just I feel im trapped in the situation of life right now...

:) thanks

rj
