Lucid, but mad

Posted by Christ_empowered on August 13, 2012, at 21:53:36

That's me. I went off my meds for a while and felt fine. Great conversational skills, more energy, great writing skills. I even sent an ex-shrink over 52 pages of anti-psychiatry stuff, mostly informed by Fouault, Goffman, and Szasz.

I almost got committed. Some other shrink went to probate court. They got shot down (did I mention I write well?). Tomorrow, I have to go back to the public mental health place and talk to someone. I don't think its a psych evaluation. I think they're just going to hook me up with a new shrink. I guess that's cool.

What do you call this, anyway? I thought "severe mental illness" was supposed to be utterly incapacitating. Oh, and the shrink who tried to have me committed once told me (and others--not real big on HIPPAA, apparently) that I was narcissistic and "trying to be special."

Are you back on your abilify? That seems to be what works best for you. Why did you go off it again? Phillipa
