There is a definite warning in the rx literature: Trazodone may cause painful, long lasting erections in males. In some cases emergency and/or surgical treatment has been required and, in some of these cases, permanent damage has occurred. Talk to your doctor about the risk of taking trazodone.

I have been on trazodone but have not had this problem. I think it is mediated by 5-ht2c agonism from the mcpp metabolite (if it happens). Keep some cyproheptadine on hand?

How would cyproheptadine help with priapism?
