Hi, I have extreme light sensitivy on both eyes and my pupils are all the time dilated...also its seem that its linked to the chronic headache I have everyday since a while...headache who dont stop even with meds like Ibuprofen or others nsaids...
Is it possible that its from the meds I take?
I take 7.25mg of Klonopin each day, gradually reduce my dose by 0.25 mg every month and highly addicted from it now doing nothing for my anxiety problems.
I also take around 10 to 15 mg of Propanolol each day, cant take more cause of my low blood pressure. Take it for my rapid pulse rate.
I also take a very low dose of Remeron before bedtime, 2 mg to 4 mg maximum to avoid the noradrenaline effect from it.
Take Tylenol each day for my headache and once in a while a nsaids, Ibuprofen or Naproxen when the headache tend to be more a migraine...
So someone see a link with the extreme light sensivity...the dilated pupils <I look like im on drug> and the meds I take?
The inderal is not suppose to decrease the effect of the adrenaline so reduce the pupils size?
Also, I dont have withdrawal symptoms from the clonazepam reduction since I reduce it very slowly and had the same dilated pupils effect with light sensivity when I was at 8 mg day...
Any advises on this? Its really annoying for me and my eyes and head hurt all the time.
Thanks everyone ;-)

Vincent since you are not taking an antidepressant this means you can take Imitrex for the headaches. Maybe it will work well? Phillipa

Hi Phillipa,
I tried the triptan meds a while ago, before I had the extreme anxiety problems and somatization disorder and I had bad reactions to them...mostly cardiovascular...The Zomig and Imitrex by imjection or nasal spray are the worse for me and do nothing for my type of headache who is most of the time tension headache from jaw clenchings and thight neck...Next step is botox, just need to have the RX paper for the only one neuro doc who do it where I live...since cortisone injection <nerve block> did nothing I guess I will spend a lot of money for the botox with no good results?
Well, no answer for the dilated pupils and eyes light sensivity? Its really annoying since its summer so more sun and wear sun glasses do nothing to decrease the pain...
Seem like the part of my brains who control the pain level is not working well since a while and have all those muscles and chest pain all the time and no tolerance to pain at all...
Seem also that I dont sweat, only when I sleep at night, so at daytime when its hot and humid I dont sweat so cant enjoy the sun and spend a lot of time out of the house cause I feel dizzy and kinda sick...
Also always have goose bumps even when im under the sun and have to wear coat at night...feel hot inside me and my head but feel like its freezing on my skin...really dont know why I cant enjoy summer anymore and stay outside without feeling like I will die...also hot wheater make my heart beat even faster, and its not good since its already in the high 120 and more at rest...have so many things and feel so bad inside that body and in my head and dont know what to do or where I can get help...
Anyway thanks for your answer Phillipa ;-)

this is what it is....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mydriasisreally I can't tell you direct treatments for this...I do know that the use of opiates causes the pupils to constrict but still that's not a good treatment....I used to walk into places on methamphetamine and had to look down alot and avoid eye contact with people because of the intense dilation that would immidiatly give away whats going on. Usally just don't look people directly in the eye, look away, act like your thinking or something...wear sunglasses. Don't force yourself to look at light becuse it will cause eye pain.
their are some eyedrops that are precrition that could take care of this...but best luck to you...

Yeah I read that on wiki 1 month ago...I just realize that my pupils are always bigger than normal when I start taking pictures of me and my friends at night...always the only one to have red eyes on pictures...also had done some E and LSD as a teen and remember that my eyes look scary on both drugs.
Now what bother me the most is the light sensivity, eyes pain and the fact that using my laptop or reading for 20 min or less hurt my eyes and increase the headache. Sunglasses dont help...
Not bother about what the others will think about my big pupils but tired of having eyes pain and headache all the time....
If eyes drops for that problem are available will ask my Doc to have them...
What surprise me the most is the fact that I take the Inderal who is suppose to block the adrenaline effect and constrict the pupils. I know the ativan is the only one benzo who can dilated the pupils but I assume the clonozepam dont do that since I take it since 6 years on and off and never had that problem or eyes pain on it...or maybe I had already dilated pupils and never care about this in the past since I didnt had somatization disorder before 2011. Now every.little pain or not normal symptoms are freaky for me...
Its seem that my sympatic nervous system is all the time on...and wonder if a med can help to bring back the para-sympatic nervous system, the one who promote relaxation...
Anyway thanks for your answer :-) Take care of you , Vincent

Dilated pupils and light sensitivity might be caused by adrenal fatigue.

I had a 24h urinary test for the adrenal glands and the supression test as well, it was back in 2011, at the time my anxiety wasbad but not as bad as now...also had the 24h blood cortisol test, mean they take blood at different times of the day and at night...
The results was normal , thats what my Doc say....but I had the results on a paper and look on the internet and to my big surprise I found out that my adrenaline level was not detectable in my blood so very low, the noradrenaline level was also low, the cortisol was also low with 80, normal range are from 100 to 400 if I remember well...only the dopamine level was in the middle range and normal with the 24h urinary test...dont know how to interpret those results cause it can mean that I have too many adrenaline and noradrenaline in the body and dont excred it?
The blood tests show normal cortisol level at all the hours who they take it.
I guess the adrenal glands are weak cause of the chronic hign anxiety state, who is normal I guess and I guess I dont have to bother about the dilated pupils and light sensivity...
Just saw my Doc and he send me seeing a Neuro Doc for the chronic headache and jaw pain so one problem will be maybe fix...and for the anxiety nothing new...we talk about a new AD who will be on the market soon and we agree about trying it as soon as it will be out on the market...im meds sensitive now, small dose of ssri almost kill me and no its not anticipatory anxiety from taking a ssri since in the past I was use to start them at normal dose and sometimes high dose and never had increase anxiety and agitation from them...
Anyway thanks again, have a nice day!
