A thread has gone Poof!
If you want to talk about its absence, there's a new thread called "Applause" on the Admin board.Curious.

I don't remember ever seeing threads disappear here before. I wonder what's going on.

Perhaps the program script was unable to handle the volume of posts when the board rolled-over. If the posts were deleted purposefully, this would be the first time that I can recall this happening (with the exception of posts made by people who are being blocked). It has been Dr. Bob's policy to not delete posts.
I'll check out Administration.

Even people's medication posts are removed. I remember the newbie telling of her recovery. That's also gone. So just wasn't the healthcare thread. And in the old days the volume of posts far exceeded what was posted here on that thread. I do think Babble is going to disappear. And it's not a fear, scared statement I'm makeing just fact. As I said before I do need the google searchbar for my business and like babbles. Wasn't a think on admin a while ago. Maybe someone disagreed with posters concerns. Phillipa

Are posts deleted on psych central if they are not civil?

Oh my Tabitha's posts on cancer are also deleted. all the threads. Without a health board and others poor girl where was she supposed to post. And none of her posts were uncivil. So a mass deletion of chosen posts were deleted. Not that I care but hormones gone also. Is this selective deleting of posts? Civil or uncivil had nothing to do with this. See which posts you remember and see if they are still there? Phillipa

Yes, without warning. Here, I have not seen any action taken without warning before. A definite change in policy, and in line with what that site does.
As for posts rolling over and off the board, my understanding was that the oldest posts are archived, not the most recent.
Something has changed since I last frequented this place. With no visible admin though, to point out the changes, I can only shrug.

I updated a couple scripts, but made a couple mistakes doing so. Sorry about that! I don't think any posts were lost. I'll take care of this asap.

That would be in lieu of any communication from YOU.
Why don't you write a paper on it? I'll fold it into paper airplanes and send it back page by page.
Pretty irresponsible behavior for an admin. I welcome the block.

Yes, it IS interesting how Bob gets in his little "shots". Kinda passive-aggressive, IMHO.

I have to agree. Dr. Bob is evidently aware of the concern members have about the future of Babble, because of the direct posts about it on both Medication and Administration. To answer only a question about a technical malfunction seems both inadequate and liable to raise members' concerns about Babble's future even more. We all expect a degree of care and competence which is, disappointingly, not in evidence at present, If Babble collapses altogether, this will be the principal reason. I personally only want to be part of a constructive, hopeful, well-run forum; Babble was once all of those wonderful things, but it sadly isn't that way now,

Thanks! It is certainly beautiful, with snow on the mountains and spring flowers all over. The exchange rate is better for Americans than it has been for the last several years, but it's still expensive,

Dr Bob is on another planet. Watering the grass while the house is burning down.
I mean, what's up doc? You know people are concerned about several issues here. Most have spent years here and....you aren't psycho babble, we are.
Without us you'd be staring at a blank screen wondering what if. We aren't your patients, we're your teacher. I've respected you, others the same, quid pro quo.

I was shocked to come back to this thread this evening having noticed what was clearly a computer glitch this morning. My first reaction was that people were way more nuts than I realized. It took awhile for me to remember that what is an obvious computer problem to me and to bob (and to you also?) would not be obvious to everyone. I wish now that I'd spelled that out when I made my test post.

Posts are "disappeared" on psych central. As are posters. It's not a public process there so who knows why.

It does seem to sum it up. My worldview shaped by an early overdose of spy novels. That's sobering.
