Hi
I have struggled with depression for the past 2 years( my pdc call it resistant depression) I started Nardil 3 weeks ago. my pdc upped my dose to 90mg yesterday I would like to hear
people experience about this drug.
since i started 90mg of Nardil i get euphoria. it makes me feel good and calm but this is not what i am looking for from Nardil. will the antidepressant effect of Nardil ever kick?
btw, my pdc told me once i reach 90mg i need to wait at least 8 weeks for Nardil to kick...8 weeks?? omg!

Just saw your post. I have been on Nardil for most of the past 14 years. When I first started in 1998 I did have hypomania which passed and has never returned. Sorry, I don't have the energy right now for a long post. Just Google Nardil Jedi site: www.dr-bob.org You can add additional search terms like hypomania, weight, "delayed orgasm", hypotension, "social anxiety", "atypical depression",etc. to narrow the results.
Good Luck, Nardil can work when all else fails. 8 weeks after starting an effective dose is a very conservative estimate. 4 to 6 weeks is closer to reality.

I was on Nardil about 6 years ago. I am not sure that I lasted 8 weeks after getting to 90 mgs, because I was unable to tolerate the desperate need to sleep in the middle of the day, but not able to sleep at night. I also gained a lot of weight -- on top of weight gained by other drugs, so I am not talking about being pissed because I could not get into a bikini.
Still, I would say it really helped. I did not have euphoria, but I started to feel more confident -- the way I had before I was visited by terrible depression.
I hope you have success with Nardil - truly. And, as you know everyone's experience is different. The month or 2 are going to pass no matter what, so I hope that you get the results you are looking for.
This is the end of the thread.
