which ssri /or older would be the easiest switch from 60 mg of cymbalta for ocd/anxiety.....not including effexor....i think anafrinal would be an even switch ...not sure i want to take it....can get 30 cymbalta's if a taper is needed

I don't know a taper might be easier to 30mg and then switch over. Still haven't tried luvox? Or you did? What have you found with the cymbalta? Phillipa

I'm not sure any switch is going to be easier than another but I think what would help is to do a cross taper. Cymbalta can be custom dosed. The beads inside the capsule....about 10 of them or so makes 1mg. Sprinkle on something soft so you can swallow without chewing the beads.

Can't you open the capsule, remove some beads and close it up again? That's what I did with Effexor.

I would caution against taking it without a capsule because the capsule makes the medication travel further in your body prior to absolution, usually for good reason.

You can buy empty capsules from the pharmacy if you can't close it again.

phillipa dr. is cautous about using luvox with tegretol because it raises the teg level....we would probably have to lower or stop teg....also no dr's use luvox .....there has to be a logical reason

Good idea. Yes it is easy to buy empty capsules, size 00 is best, and then fill them as desired. Not worries about the beads dissolving too soon....stomach acid won't get them...they are not going to dissolve until the intestines no matter whether they are in a capsule or not. The capsule will disintegrate rapidly in the stomach, but the beads don't. The capsule only serves the purpose of keeping the beads together for swallowing. It serves no purpose after that.

I feel just take a lower dose of luvox? I know that valium and xanax are contradicted with luvox so take lower doses of each med. If you had an enhanced effect from the depakote a lower dose would seem to provide the same effect. Phillipa
