My Dr just put me on Paxil 10 mg and back on Wellbutrin 150mg XL a day to try to help with my PTSD and OCD. I am finding although I am tired I am not sleeping well. Does anyone know if it is ok to take Melatonin at night to help sleep when on these 2 drugs? I have always taken about 10 mg Melatonin at bed time, but stopped taking it when I started taking the Paxil and Wellbutrin because i didn't know if it would be ok and I forgot to ask my Dr. I have been taking 1 mg Clonzepam at night to help sleep, but would rather not take Clonzepam unless it's necessary for anxiety. Thanks

10mg of melatonin is rather a lot. 3mg is often enough. Response will vary, of course.

Yes I had been taking (3) 3mg tabs a night and still not sleeping thru. I guess I just want to know if it is ok to continue taking with the meds I'm on now? I have been taking 1mg Clonzepam at night since I started on the Paxil Wellbutrin and that helps, I still don't sleep all night soundly. I would prefer not to take the Clonzepam and keep it for anxiety rather than use it for sleep?

I wouldn't anticipate any major interactions.
I'm not sure that such high doses are any more effective than standard doses though. Once a certain dose is reached, increasing it further doesn't necessarily make it work better. Melatonin is short-acting and so sustained release capsules might be useful to help you sleep through. Melatonin may be more effective in the elderly than in young adults.

Thanks I'll check in to time released if they have such a thing. I'm 56 so not exactly young.
