i've done some investigating, and I found this and I read it does not produce any mental changing effects it simply blocks noradrenaline from acting causing some anxiety. It's also used for tremors and hypotension.
Can I ask what or how you know about Inderal and its effects?

Its a beta blocker used in heart disease and blood pressure issues. Doesn't last long as some residents would take some before a presentation when I was working they told me. Phillipa

Deneb does - or used to - prn, for a long time, I think. Maybe if you post her name in a thread subject she will post back. She's been here a lot less lately but posted on social just yesterday, I think. You could Babblemail her.

years back my pdoc tried it with me. i took it at nights. it seemed to work well but only for a month or so. then it seemed to no longer control my anxiety. but i had other issues going on as well. its pretty safe and worth a try.

I actually have taken it on and off for a few years It is not the same kind of relief and calm you feel from a benzo, but within 1/2 hr, you do start to feel less and less anxious. You can take deeper breaths. Your heart stops pounding and your shoulders relax.
As someone else said, it really doesn't last all that long. I have also noticed that when I take it regularly I develop a tolerance.
I don't know if THIS is true, but my GP was reticent about prescribing it because he said there were studies saying it might exacerbate depression. I dunno... I'm depressed a lot of the time, and I really don't think I can blame the propranalol - ha ha ha....
I first heard about it from a violinist whose bowing arm would shake when she was nervous. The Inderal, she said, took the edge off of the shakes, but also took the edge off of her performing -- perhpas I should say "risk taking". I mention the violinist to illustrate that it is subtle. I like having it around.> i've done some investigating, and I found this and I read it does not produce any mental changing effects it simply blocks noradrenaline from acting causing some anxiety. It's also used for tremors and hypotension.
